Got a surge of shipment notices in the past week or so… and the first of 5 (^^;) packages arrived today!

We’ll see how long this lasts, and I’m not sure this blog is the best place to do it, but I felt like trying to spread the Japanese language love. Assuming I follow through, I’m not expecting anyone to be fluent when I’m done but I hope it may inspire those who are curious to follow up with classes or otherwise.

These “lessons” will be aimed at otaku, so expect anime/manga/game/novel examples and such. ^^;
Anyhow, the first step towards reading Japanese is learning the alphabet (well, technically it’s a syllabary)! aaand the first letter (or kana) is… あ！ In English it’s pronounced as ‘a’ in father, ‘o’ in otter, ‘a’ in saw, etc. Unfortunately I’m not sure how the pronunciation turns out in other languages/accents, gomen m(_ _)m

Some ramblings on… anime, figures and manga ^_^
Lately it feels like the only front I’m making any progress in is anime. As posted previously I recently got through Code Geass (Which I again highly recommend if you haven’t gotten around to it. I’d say watch the first 3 episodes to get a good feel for things. I’ll let ya skip this one if you’re not hooked by then :P)
Almost finished with 恋姫†無双 (koihime musou)… love the characters and the ED but the plot hasn’t really grabbed me that much. …Though I guess I didn’t really expect much from an eroge turned anime (not that that’s a bad thing… but I didn’t get the awesome plot vibe from this one ^^;)

I discover a lot of new series because I can’t resist the kawaii cover art. かのこん {kanokon} definitely falls into that category ^^;
It was during my last trip to Japan that I happened upon the latest releases of the kanokon manga/light novel at K-Books in Akihabara. Couldn’t resist picking it up and that’s what precipitated into this purchase ^^;

I can’t believe they’re censoring Rosario & Vampire CAPU2. This is blasphemy. (episode 3 “spoilers” to follow… if fan service can be spoiled ^^;)
Well, so if I read correctly, season 1 was censored on some stations (luckily not the ones I downloaded), but this time around it seems like there aren’t any uncensored stations left?

I love it when packages arrive on Saturday. That’s because someone’s actually home and I get it the same day rather than waiting until I can pick it up from the post office later.

A figure I got after reading too many reviews. Originally I was only going to get her boost state version (though at the moment I’m really skeptical the store I ordered from will actually be able to fill my order… wasn’t she a limited mail order item? they have enough trouble getting regular kotobukiya figures to me ;_;), but in the end I caved and ordered the loli version too.
素敵だろう？ She’s great, isn’t she? ^_^ My first Alpha Omega, and definitely a great figure to start with.
Mmm be forewarned, we’re dealing with a castoff loli… don’t come complaining to me if you happen upon suppadaka Alice pic when someone walks up behind you :P

For any concerned, there are no spoilers in this post.
Why is it that I always wait so long before watching epic shows like Code Geass and Gurren Lagann? With teh internets aflame with spinzaku and lulucopter, with Max Factory busy churning out figmas, what the heck was I waiting for?
Last Friday I started the first episode of Geass… first season finished on Sunday. Watched the entire second season Monday… err well, I guess it technically it was early Tuesday morning ^^;;;

I suppose most are familiar with the shuraki girls, and as titled, today we have Rize! From her SECRET FILE, one might note her full name is Rizfis Luttiva Mente… which in romaji comes out as rizefisu rutetiiva mente… ^^;;
Also from her SECRET FILE, we find that she likes pasta, tomato cuisine, Japanese sweets, cute things, and sleeping. She hates cold foods, dark places, crows, and taking medicine. The booklet has some nice art to look at, along with (I believe) details on her background and story in general. I… have yet to read it all or listen to the drama cd though ^^;;

Woohoo!! yes, my Alice came. Hlj overdid their preorders so I had to cancel, but thanks to James I was able to find her at J-List. 9 more in stock at the time of this post, but I admit, it is a little more pricey than most stores ;_;
