gaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! touhou rant engage.
i don’t know if i used up all my touhou patience on eosd or what but pcb is driving me crazy. frikkin can’t capture any of yuyuko’s cards regularly… usually in practice mode i get down to like 2 or 3 lives (at best) clearing stage 6 -_- youmu in stage 5 is only marginally better… and with both the worst part is i am back to terrible death bombing rates, dying with bombs in stock left and right. orz
Thought I’d try easy… and did manage to clear it. Actually 1cc’d on my first (easy difficulty) attempt, so I guess my practice in normal wasn’t all for naught…
I was surprised to find that that unlocked the extra stage (must be on >= normal for eosd) so tried that out… got obliterated of course ^^;
cheeeeeeen!
Surprisingly I was able to make it to ran a few times…
Think all the times I did so were with 1 or 0 lives left thou -_-
Sooo yeah….
Beaten back into submission I decided to give Lunatic mode a try — logic being that I’d acclimate myself to the more complicated patterns and faster bullets… then hopefully beating normal would be just as easy as beating… well, easy ^^;
And somehow I cleared lunatic! though… you’ll notice it took 5 continues.
…39 deaths and 65 bombs, capturing a grand total of 3 cards in the process ^^;;;;;
Alas… still beating my head on the wall every time I blow my 8 life reserve in stage 5 and head into stage 6 with 2 or 3 lives… and no skill to take those anywhere close to a clear -_-
/end rant.
Alrighty, felt good getting that off my chest. Sometimes I wonder why I do this for “fun” ^^;;;;
New tripod should be arriving tomorrow! Hopefully more photography goodies in the coming weeks (alas no new lenses :P)

Think every Touhou player goes through this. These games are hard and challenge the human level of response time/concentration. Especially the game you’re playing. The difficulty is said to be turned up so that it will make even veterans of the game sweat. In fact, I’ve heard it said that the only game harder then PCB is Touhou 11 SA.
Maybe, if I was you, I would beat Mountain of the Faith and UFO before tackling PCB and SA. That’s what I’m doing because PCB pretty much raped me. ^^;
But, if you decide to continue playing PCB, I recommend taking breaks to vent some of that rage. I noticed that I have good days and bad days so if I’m pretty much dying alot after 4 tries, it’s not my day and I’ll try again tomorrow.
Speaking of Touhou, after a month of dying over and over again, I finally 1cc normal Touhou 12 UFO. Such a feeling of accomplishment when you finally see the ending credits and the extra stage unlocked. It is worth it but requires a bit of obsession and lots of hours of practice. ^_^

think i’m gonna stick with pcb to extract my revenge :P i actually do play the other games for short breaks though. IN on easy has been a nice stress reliever since i can mostly 1cc it whenever ^^
it’s good to hear that pcb is one of the harder ones… that should help lower my expectations for my performance (and thus frustration ^^;)
grats on your ufo 1cc! definitely is a great triumph getting those 1ccs under yer belt ^^

I never actually finished PCB normal 1cc. Farthest I got was stage 6 midboss Youmu. :|
Then again, I never actually played any Touhou beside PCB. But damn man you must be leet to play while capping screens lol.

youmuuuuu! ^^; i finally can get through stage 6 midboss youmu’s initial attack but i have yet to figure out how to dodge the 3rd wave of bullets in her second ^^;
i’m actually the exact opposite of leet… those screenshots were taking from my replay ^^;;;;

what? lunatic with “only” 5 continues? i took 3 continues for normal level T_T I need more pratice~

just bombed like crazy ^^;; once you learn to bomb early enough, 5 continues will get you pretty far, regardless of difficulty ^^;
