If you’re unfamiliar with ToLoveる, Lala is introduced in the first chapter/epsiode when she teleports nekkid into Rito’s (the male lead) bathtub.  With him in it, of course.  aaand that pretty much sets the stage for the rest of the series.

Lala arrived early last December so… wow, almost half a year late with this one ^^;

When I was ordering I was mostly a sairenji fan, so I wanted the Megahouse version to match (seifuku).

Still stand by that decision, but GSC’s version is still very tempting.

Alpha Omega means Alter + Megahouse == good stuff, and I wasn’t disappointed.

As usual the close up shots reveal my imperfect dusting job.

Well, actually it looks okay above I guess.  But in the other pics with different lighting, it was terrible ^^;

Lala no oppai.

Base is boring as usual, but I can hardly expect anything better nowadays ^^;  Either it’s drop dead gorgeous, plain, or retarded like haruna’s ^^;

At first, rooting for rito and sairenji I wasn’t such a fan of lala getting in the way…

Definitely grew on me over the last few volumes though.

Was satisfied with how the pics turned out this time.  Perhaps could’ve used a bit more light and definitely needed a diffuser for my secondary light, but if you can ignore that… ^^;;  Taking Blowfish‘s advice to take ron~‘s advice to take lu-k‘s advice on achieving black backgrounds, I increased the distance of the figure to background by a lot.

Pink pantsu

I would say I’ve never been a fan of the lumpy kinda hair… reminds me of the recent Alter Louise release.  From the front it looks fine, but from the top/behind it leaves a bit to be desired.

Made a wallpaper… though I have a feeling I’m prolly the only one who  uses ‘em :P  Think this is my favorite pic of the bunch.

From our recent wallpaper discussion looks like most of y’all don’t appreciate text, but I figure I gotta brand my stuff sometimes :P Plus it’s in the corner and easily removed with your favorite editor.

We’ll finish up with an obligatory group shot.

Verdict?  A solid Alpha Omega release.  Can’t go wrong if you’re a fan of the character.  If not… I still think she’s pretty good, but not terribly exciting or jaw dropping.  After all she’s just posing in seifuku like countless other anime characters ^^;

James had a much more timely review… I’m sure he’s not the only other to do so.  Let me know if I overlooked yours ^^ oo and looks like James also added a review of the shueisha lala & sairenji xmas outfit releases just now ^^

Update: Forgot to mention!  blaaaa had a problem with her support foot!  One of the two pegs in her foot snapped… noticed when it wasn’t completely flush.   orz  She was still standing, but because of the break, leaning back ever so slightly and her foot came off the base a little.  Decided to super glue it down to avoid further damage caused by the imbalance.  Disappointed to have to deal with that sort of problem in a recent release… I wonder if manufacturers forgot to consider the base when taking anti-leaning precautions… ;_;

Just a ‘lil update… currently working on a lala review.  One of my lamps is on the fritz so I had to improvise with another from the living room.  Unfortunately I kind of have to hold it to get the results I want, which is annoying.  But on the other hand, it’s neat to experiment and vary/customize the conditions for each shot.

Wish I didn’t get the glare in her eye in the shot below.  Otherwise kinda like how it turned out.

Went to jtown for ramen and manga for the first time in over a month.  Man, how I missed the ramen.  Finished every last drop.

Was disappointed that kinokuniya didn’t have k-on! …really wanted to start reading orz . Will have to wait for my order to come in.  They were also missing the first volume of saki… figured I’d give it a try since I was watching the anime…

Despite their lack of stock, did end up with some gets:

kiss x sis 2 & 3, rosario & vampire 2 vol 3, haruhi 8, nanoha a’s 1 & nanoha strikers 2

Was kind of hoping that the art would be a step above the anime but alas, nothing special imo…

Ah well, can’t win ‘em all.

Would’ve picked up ikkitousen 15 but I couldn’t remember if I had bought it or not.  And I think I saw ToLoveる 13? Or was it 12?  Couldn’t remember how many of those I had either so held back.  I’m currently on volume 9 but that’s not gonna last me very long ^^;

New characters are quick to be disrobed ^^;  If, when reading manga, you often think, “damn, I wish I could see her oppai,” then this is the manga for you.

Rito’s one of those annoying characters who gets all nervous/embarrassed all the time but at least you can always  count on him stumbling into oppai situations :P

Poor haruna.  Always seems to be on the wrong end of a tentacle.

I think I’m setting a personal record for consecutive non-figure-review posts…  I swear I’ll get back on track soon…

As pictured above, Lala came in.  Really happy to have her, and my first impression was damn, looks even better in person.  Unfortunately it also reminded me of how I don’t have 金色の闇 (konjiki no yami) to keep her company, since Kid Nemo went all awesome sauce on me and cancelled my order >_<  Been looking around but haven’t found her in stock anywhere.  Ugh.  If you know of a place, local, overseas, Japanese site or whatever, let me know, I’m considering all options at the moment…

On to the small favor, got a request from Shiddo almost a week ago for shots comparing hayate to needa/nanael for sizing purposes.  Was more than happy to comply but alas didn’t get to it as punctually as I planned.  Better late than never I guess.  Here’s the crew side by side…

The face seems a little off, but I love the outfit, pose and stand ^_^

Also, seems like they’ll be releasing the first kurenai figure I’ve seen so far…

(picture also from the hobby search listing) Unfortunately none of the pics at hobby search were very good but regardless, doesn’t look like I’ll be getting this murasaki. I’ll leave it to future reviews to convince me ^^;

The sairenji I preordered will be my first shueisha figure, so no clue what kind of quality to expect. Anyone out there that has any of their stuff?
